Saturday is Ladies’ Night at the Street of Dreams

The 2007 Street of Dreams, at Marklund Place in Clackamas County, is preparing an evening of pampering and fashion for the ladies on Aug. 11. It’s ladies night out among the six amazing, million-dollar estates while enjoying the latest in beauty trends, wine and fashion.

Ladies’ Night runs 4-8 p.m. The first 800 ladies at the hospitality deck will receive a complimentary beauty bag  and VIP wristband that gives them access to live music, hors d’ oeuvres, and wine tasting on the Street’s  hospitality deck, nestled in tall timbers with a great view of Mt. Hood. The Clackamas Nordstrom will be on-site to show off the hottest trends for fall, and ladies will be able to place orders at the event.

Ladies Night is sponsored by VanderVeer Center. Dr. Elizabeth VanderVeer is a noted beauty expert and a familiar face on local newscasts, where she often shares tips on women’s beauty. She will be on-hand to discuss the latest in skin care and anti-aging techniques.

“The Street of Dreams is all about ideas, entertainment and about the dream of living in one of the homes,” said HBA Events and Promotions Coordinator Sarah Delamarter. “Fashion, beauty and world-class Oregon wine seem the perfect compliment to the show, and a great ladies’ night out on the town. We are very excited to team-up with VanderVeer Center for our first Ladies’ Night at the Street.”

Men are welcome at the Street of Dreams on Ladies’ night. The six dream homes will be on display, providing a look at home trends and a place for homeowners to see the latest dream gadgets and designs.

HBA officials noted that early reviews from area real estate professionals, media personalities and countless visitors agree that this year’s Street of Dreams is the best in recent memory. The show boasts a diverse collection of homes, including what is perhaps the show’s most unique entry ever -- a modern design with a par-three golf hole, as well as a traditional Northwest lodge and an English manor with its own turret.

The 2007 Street of Dreams is located approximately 4 miles from I-205 by taking exit 10 east, going to Redland Road and following the signs to Marklund Place. Gates open daily at 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Tickets are available on-site or online at www.streetofdreamspdx.com. Adult tickets are $15, children 6-12 are $5, and children under 6 are admitted free.

The HBA showcases the home building and remodeling industries through home shows including its signature event, the Street of Dreams™, as well as the Tour of Remodeled Homes™, the Ultimate Open House™, and the Portland Home and Garden Show®. The HBA originated the concept of the luxury home showcase in 1976 and it has been replicated across the United States and in foreign countries.
