Events and Education Overview

Network, celebrate, learn, and grow!

Our membership events are designed to give members great opportunities to increase their contacts in the homebuilding industry. From casual gatherings like our After Hours, to formal events like the Holiday Builders Ball, to sporting events such as the HBA Golf Tournament, events open doors to new business relationships, celebrate industry successes, and recognize our members. Other events, such as our annual Housing Forecast, provide members with strategic information to plan their upcoming year. Mark your calendar now to participate in our 2009 events! Growth is essential in a changing industry, and our education department helps keep members on track with information, training and certification opportunities for our membership. Our goal is to be the preferred industry resource - continually identifying new and relevant trends, presenting exciting speakers and offering timely certification programs. In 2010, we’re focusing on developing and expanding our educational opportunities. Our classes cover topics from marketing and business development to construction and technology! A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Join us for this annual black-tie charity gala that kicks off the NW Natural Street of Dreams. This year’s event benefits the Home Builders Foundation, Emanuel Children’s Hospital, and the YMCA of Columbia and Willamette and is themed “Illuminate the Night at Skyline.” Buy now! HBF Casino Night

Arbor Design Center

Join us for a night of gambling, cigars, drinks and Guitar Hero at the Arbor Design Center. The evening is catered by 50 Plates and Jopa, and includes all activities, food and drinks. All proceeds benefit the Home Builders Foundation. Contact: Jennifer T.

NW Natural Street of Dreams Opens

Join experts from NW Natural at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. for tours of the sustainable features at this year's show.

Green Professionals Day

Aug. 4 * 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Specialists from Paolo Design Group, NW Natural, Metro, and Evolution Paving will be on hand teaching seminars about increasing the sustainability of your home! Additionally, green professionals get $5 off their ticket by showing a business card.

Green Professionals Happy Hour

August 4 * 5-7 p.m.
Free (Sponsored by MARCO Ideas Unlimited and NW Natural)

Join us for a hosted happy hour on the Entertainment Deck at the NW Natural Street of Dreams site. Free appetizers and wine (courtesy of Cooper Mountain Vineyards) will be available, along with eco-friendly door prizes. You must be a green professional to attend.

Cycle the Dream

Aug. 7 * All day (starting at 11 a.m.)

Ride your bike to the show and receive a discount on your ticket. Bike tours and workshops will also be available.

Keep Your Backyard Buzzing and Humming

Aug. 8 * All day (starting at 11 a.m.)

Learn how to make your backyard a haven for birds, butterflies, and other little critters. Metro's Nature in Neighborhood experts will be on hand to answer all your questions. We'll have plant sales, DIY bird feeders for kids, and a whole lot more!

Lead Based Paint Classes

August 9 & 25* 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
$169 HBA Members / $199 Non-member

This one-day class will give you the EPA mandated training and certification t hat you will need to be compliant with the new federal law. There is a maximum of 20 students per class, so register early! Contact: Shannon Z.
