Gary E. Milgard Scholarship: High School Competition

"Creating exposure opportunities for our youth"

The Home Builders Foundation believes in getting an early start. Through the generosity of the Milgard Family Foundation, this scholarship program is offered to area high school students as an introduction to the home building process and opportunities available in the industry.

General overview of process and qualifications:

1) Send form of intent as soon as possible to HBF (Brochure contains intent form and full details of competition).

2) CD-ROM simulation game Building Homes of Our Own – obtain from counselor or teacher  (Documented score needed)

3) Participate in a valuable community service project by working 12 hours with a housing related organization or housing related activity (Documentation needed)

4) Compose a brief essay (500 words) on an issue related to the building industry.

5) Send all documentation & qualifying materials to HBF.
